Letters: Local government contracts need thorough review
There is an appearance of corruption by the Columbia City Council, Richland County Council and some state representatives. This needs to be investigated by someone with an unbiased interest.
A good start would be to request the county and city contracts that have been entered into in the past two years, along with details of the bidding and vetting for each contract.
I hope I am wrong. However, when the public reads about lucrative contracts being awarded to companies with no experience in the field and standard procurement policies being replaced, the idea of corruption immediately rears its ugly head.
