Letters: What if we applied Academy Awards standards elsewhere?

For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. So as you consider the controversy over the Academy Awards, consider the following:

What if a group began a movement that required all high schools and colleges to make sure their football and basketball teams matched the ethnicity of their student bodies? No more all-black teams. Instead, ratios would mean more white, red, yellow and ruddy-complexioned players on the teams. Wouldn’t that be better for those who have no chance at all as it is?
