Letters: Focus on all parties in prostitution
S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson and Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott are to be commended for the arrests of six suspects charged with human trafficking. Getting pimps and traffickers off the street is a great service to the community. However, it is only part of the solution.
Commercial sex is driven by demand, like any other enterprise. Sex trafficking will continue to grow until law enforcement begins arresting the Johns and putting their pictures before the public. Take away demand, and the need for boys and girls to supply sexual services goes away.
