South Carolina’s roads are in constant need of repair. I believe much of the budget-draining maintenance could be eliminated by running commuter trains on the medians of interstates between major cities.

This works well with the trains to and from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, which travel right down the expressway median, cutting down on private vehicle traffic on the expressway.

Investing in commuter trains would create jobs and entice large companies to the state. It also would reduce the need for new lanes and even roads to maintain.
