Letters: Protect US from terrorists, immigrants

AP

According to Wikipedia, the Monroe Doctrine “stated that further efforts by European nations to colonize land or interfere with states in North or South America would be viewed as acts of aggression, requiring U.S. intervention.”

We need this same zeal today to defeat violent Islamic colonization efforts. As with Pearl Harbor in World War II, we are under attack.

Fact: “Moderate” Islam has not gotten its house in order. Fact: Moderate Islam has been ineffective in stopping Islamic violence. Is it a frenemy, a Trojan horse? During wartime, added safeguards are needed. Immigration should be paused. Let’s first defeat this invading menace, this colonizing horde. No nation can be the lifeboat for the world. A safe zone in the Middle East is the place for Mideast refugees.

Spreading threats, fear and terrorism is not a blessed, peaceful philosophy. Denying reality is naive and dangerous.

Our borders need to be closed promptly and tightly. Mexico should be incentivized to close its side of the border. No resources should be provided to illegal immigrants (including anchor babies): no school, health care, loans or jobs. That should prompt them to find their own way out just as they found a way to break in.
