Monday letters: Clinton can get things done

In 2006, Lindsay Graham worked across the aisle with Hillary Clinton to improve health-care benefits for veterans. He was pleased when she was chosen secretary of state. In 2011, he called her a national treasure.

Hillary understands that to get things done means working with Congress and the other party. This is the Clinton way. Bill and the Republican Senate of the 1990s created the best economic growth of the past 25 years, a fact many people under 40 do not remember.

Having been a democratic socialist for 40 years, Bernie Sanders just joined the Democratic Party last year to run for president. Most Democratic senators are supporting Hillary; none is for Bernie. Karl Rove on Fox can’t wait to run his ads against the socialist.

It’s clear who understands how to get things done with Congress. It is not Bernie.
