Monday letters: We can all help reduce litter

I live in southeast Richland County, and the amount of trash along our roads is very disheartening. I know there should be an agency in Richland County responsible for maintaining our roadways, but we can all do our part. This is about civic pride, which is lacking in our city and surrounding areas.

I know the flooding probably created some of the litter, but I see more with each passing week. If everyone just picked up a few pieces along the way, it could make a difference. Pick up that plastic bottle or bag you see in a parking lot or on the sidewalk. Every little bit helps.
