Letters: White men are not the threat

AP

Rick Mason’s April 1 letter, “Let’s put our threats in perspective,” is the most absurd thing I have read in some time. I never see where any angry white men are shooting it out, but one only has to turn on the news to see young blacks, mostly gangs, killing each. Just look at Washington, Chicago and Los Angeles.

The letter mentioned the NRA, which is the oldest civil rights group in our country. It does more than most to defend our freedom. If we lose the Second Amendment, the others won’t be far behind. We see encroachments and protest on the First Amendment all the time. Our freedom is not free. We have a constant battle to safeguard it every day.
