Letters: Alan Wilson’s critics have short memories
I have read with great interest those condemning the attempt by Attorney General Alan Wilson’s aide to discredit Solicitor David Pascoe. As I recall from the Bill Clinton years, the White House, led by James Carville, waged a two-year, all-hands-on-deck attempt to discredit special prosecutor Ken Starr, and it worked. Did these same commentators condemn those efforts?
I’m reminded of the scene from “Casablanca” when Captain Renault is “shocked to find that gambling is going on in here.” Let’s dispense with the faux cries of outrage.
