Letters: Columbia providing great mud baths

On a recent morning, I filled the bathtub with extremely dirty water. Even after letting the water run for a while, it was still muddy. I checked the city website, and there is no “boil water” advisory. Of course muddy tap water is not unusual in my neighborhood.

I know Columbia has not spent water revenue on water-line maintenance for years, instead using it for other projects. As a result, our water lines are in deplorable condition. It is way past time to remedy this problem. I propose that all pet projects be put on hold and any funds for them be immediately shuffled to repairing our water lines. I’m paying premium prices for water I cannot use.

I’m sure the October floods did not help, but this problem existed long before then.
