Letters: So now old-fashioned equals bigoted?

AP

Although I do not fully support Sen. Lee Bright’s bathroom bill, primarily due to its unenforcability, he has touched upon a schism in the conflicting cultures in American society.

If I hold to a standard of common decency, I am considered intolerant. If common propriety, I am hateful. If common sense, I am fearful. To believe that people with male genitalia should use the men’s room and people with female genitalia should use the ladies’ room, I am a bigot. And our parents and grandparents and all preceding generations before them who thought along similar lines — why, they were all just ignorant.

And here I was thinking only right-wing conservative/fundamentalist/extremists resorted to name-calling and character-bashing.
