Thanks for the article about the mega-truck stops being constructed at South Beltline Boulevard and Bluff Road. Now I know the cause of the ugly deforestation next to the Heathwood Hall entrance, and the enormous scraped-clean plat by the end of South Beltline.

Beltline is the access road for residents of the South Kilbourne neighborhood to get to I-77. It was closed for a long time after October’s floods, and even before, signs warned that it was prone to flooding. Now more paving, more runoff during heavy rains. That section of South Kilbourne is a two-lane road in very bad repair. How will trucks enter and exit without interfering with commuter traffic? Will someone on the city and county councils start caring about their residents? Have we learned nothing from October?
