Columbia needs more low-cost events

Many people are on fixed incomes and miss many events in Columbia because of admission fees and parking fees.

My husband and I would love to go to football games, baseball games and Broadway productions at the Koger Center. Our entertainment is TV.

Greenville has a block party on weekends for a few hours. Vendors are brought in, bands play, people dance and just have a good time.

Why can’t Columbia do the same thing? A lot of revenue could be made.

It seems it’s all about sports and black-tie affairs.

We need some fresh air.

Get off your duffs: It’s not about college students. Where are some of the ideas that could benefit everyone?
