Letters: Katrina Shealy fights for the people

As a member of Gov. Nikki Haley’s Cabinet and later the director of DHEC, I have had many opportunities to observe our General Assembly.

When you are at work, at school, at home taking care of your family, Sen. Katrina Shealy is in the State House taking care of you. She is tough, tireless and wise, and she spends as much time listening to her constituents as she does fighting for them. Sen. Shealy’s rare combination of deep-felt compassion and complete, intellectual analysis make her the perfect statesman to protect our children and vulnerable population.

I have enjoyed watching Sen. Shealy conduct business with integrity and unapologetically attack the issues that affect her people. Nothing gets past her.
