Letters: Clinton will fight for women, entire nation

I look forward to playing the “women’s card” with my chosen candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton, as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in July.

Although the presumptive Republican nominee hurled that term at Hillary as an insult, she correctly embraced it as a badge of honor.

Fighting for women’s health care, paid family leave and equal pay strengthen women. Strong women are instrumental in maintaining stable homes, productive communities and a great nation.

We will face challenges as we build upon the accomplishments of President Barack Obama. The approach and tone we adopt matters. Hillary has the temperament and intelligence to lead our nation without insulting immigrants, people of color or people of the Muslim faith.

We must not sit back passively with mummed lips while boisterous voices attempt to divide the United States of America by inciting fear and promoting racism, classism, mysogony and sexism.

Putting up fences, silencing voices that are not in concert with ours and mouthing grandiose ideas without offering substantive, sustainable solutions is the antitheses to making our country great.
