Letters: God didn’t say we shouldn’t change anything
More than one reader has written recently to say that to physically change how we were born is against God’s will. I too believe that God is perfect and does not make mistakes, but I also believe that God challenges us with obstacles.
I cannot explain why some people would choose to change their sex. But I certainly would not tell anyone “that is the way God created you, therefore you must not change.” Thousands of babies are born every year with defects that are surgically corrected — cleft palates and lips, conjoined twins, and others.
Are we also to make no attempt to alter these conditions? Because that is the way God created these babies, and God is perfect?
