Letters: We already have term limits

Tim Dominick/tdominick@thestate.

Americans blame our political crisis on long-serving legislative ancients and dowagers, and they cry out for laws establishing term limits. They forget that America already has a method of limiting those terms. It’s called the vote. If you believe long-serving politicians to be more of a bane than a boon to governance in our republic, vote ’em out next time.

A bigger improvement to our elections would be a law that requires candidates running for other offices to resign their current offices, to which they all retreat when they lose or drop out. We deserve leaders with some real commitment.
