Letters: How can our congressmen support Trump?
Donald Trump’s lack of qualifications has been well-documented. His lack of understanding of foreign affairs, the economy, the law, how Congress operates, national security and the U.S. Constitution is monumental.
Prior to Trump’s presumptive nomination, most Republican politicians did not consider him a viable candidate. Now they are jumping on the bandwagon in droves, with little regard to the future of the our country. Most House committee chairmen now support him. When I called the offices of South Carolina’s congressional members, I was told that Sen. Tim Scott and Reps. Mark Sanford, Jeff Duncan, Trey Gowdy, Mick Mulvaney and Tom Rice support Trump. I was told that Rep. Joe Wilson was undecided. Sen. Lindsey Graham is the only Republican who will not support Donald Trump.
The nomination and election of Donald Trump would be an unforgivable disaster.
