Letters: Doth our governor protest too much?
I am reminded by our governor on an almost daily basis of some perceived inadequacies in South Carolina government.
That wonderful line by Hamlet’s Queen Gertrude, “The lady doth protest too much, mehinks,” has come today to describe too frequent, vehement, overly effusive efforts to convince others of your view, resulting in appearing defensive, insincere and inadequate.
Does any of this sound familiar?
