Letters: Firefighters provided great service

The smoke alarm on our 14-foot-high ceiling had been chirping all night. My husband and I are in our mid-80s and had no ladder long enough to reach it. At our request, a crew of three men from Lexington County Fire Service Station 9 on Oak Drive came to our house immediately in a fire truck equipped with ladders and batteries and reset all of our smoke alarms.

We are grateful for their friendly and efficient service. Thank you Station 9.
