Letters: Don’t let unruly students transfer
I understand that there are a lot of students in Richland 1 attending schools for which they are not zoned. While I respect the parental right to seek out the optimal educational opportunities for students, I do not condone allowing students with disciplinary problems to remain in their host schools.
Attending the out-of-zone school is a privilege: Students who abide by the schools’ expectations should be allowed to remain, but if they don’t, the transfer should be immediately revoked and the student returned to the original school. Adopting this policy might encourage students to consider their actions.
