Letters: Don’t let others make your decisions for your

It is a sad commentary that only 14 percent of the voters in Lexington County showed up at the polls on primary day. Picture a room with 100 people in it, and 14 of them decide that the entire room is going to do something wrong. The other 86 have no choice but to go along.

We have a second chance on Tuesday in the run-off elections for solicitor, clerk of court, a County Council seat and a House seat. All registered voters are eligible to vote unless they voted in the June 14 Democratic primary.

I urge everyone to research the candidates and find out if they are capable to do the job they are running for — and if they will actually have the authority to do what they promise.

If you do not participate in the selection of these who will represent you, you will have to live with the consequences.
