Letters: Chief Gilbert Blue was a great and talented leader

Chief Gilbert Blue was a fine gentleman, cordial man, very talented, a great leader. As the chief of the Three Rivers Cherokees, I grieve his passing.

Native-American people must stand together. I worked in Catawba children’s camps when I was in college. I spoke at a Catawba Indian church a number of times. The Catawba people bear the warmth of their former Chief Gilbert Blue. Our people of Three Rivers Cherokees are here to help the Catawba people during this time of grief.
