Letters: Americans should come before illegals

Why are Americans throwing away what made this the greatest country in history? We are a product of immigrants who saw an opportunity to have a better life for their family. This immigration started with a commitment to assimilate to the American culture. When immigrants became citizens, they committed to the idea that America was now their country.

Today people are overstaying their visa or just plain coming here illegally. Why do some think they should be given jobs, medical care, education and free everything before our own citizens, especially our veterans, who are the reason we have our freedoms?

We have an administration that seems to put illegals ahead of our own citizens.
