Letters: If Muslims are peaceful, they would stop radicals

I am in need of some assistance in understanding Islam, “the religion of peace.” Across the world, people who identify as Muslims have attacked the Olympics, embassies, military barracks, huge office buildings, warships, trains, airports, etc. Yet there are those who want to import more of these folks into our country.

This country was founded on Christian principles. We are guaranteed freedom of religion, which means we do not have a state-sponsored religion that is mandated. We each can worship the God we believe in.

Every right comes with a balancing responsibility: People don’t have the right to impose their religion or its traditions on another, and they do not have the right to hurt others in the name of their faith.

The “good Muslims” need to get busy curtailing the activities of the “radicals” if they want acceptance. I have yet to see “radicalized” Christians, Jews, Buddhists or any other religion commit these types of crimes, so what is the problem?
