With football season approaching, I’m reflecting on the tenure of Coach Steve Spurrier. It’s hard to believe it’s over. I can vividly remember the day he arrived. It was surreal. Coach Spurrier was actually going to be the head football coach at USC.

He did not disappoint. USC is relevant in football because of him. He took a program that was mired in mediocrity and elevated it to status I never thought possible. We are lucky that he passed our way. It will be a long time before someone of his character passes our way again. I already miss him.
