Letters: Scoppe, Wilson and the Supreme Court
It is hard to tell who has the largest ego, Cindi Scoppe or Alan Wilson. Alan Wilson felt he could regain control of a case from which he had recused himself for conflict of interest, when he didn’t like how the case was proceeding. Cindi Scoppe told us Alan Wilson had the legal right to keep a State Grand Jury from being convened by the David Pascoe, the prosecutor Wilson had appointed.
Then after the Supreme Court ruled on that case, she wrote a column explaining why four of the five Supreme Court justices were wrong about the Legislature’s intentions.
I doubt Cindi’s interpretation of the ruling, because many legal experts correctly predicted how the court would rule. At any rate, having a big ego doesn’t indicate criminal intent, and I don’t think Cindi had criminal intent. But Mr. Wilson probably did in trying to derail an investigation of corruption in the Legislature.
