Letters: Trump’s attacks on Kahns cross line

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump

For Donald Trump to suggest his “sacrifice” equates to that of the the parents of Capt. Humayun Khan is nauseating. The attack on a deceased soldier’s family is a singularly demeaning assault on all members of the military family.

At worst, Trump hates the military he referred to as a “disaster.”

At best, he has no clue. He insulted POWs (“I like people who weren’t captured”), lied about contributions to veterans, declared he does not need military advice from officers and will make decisions by “watching TV,” accused U.S. soldiers of stealing “baskets of money” in Iraq and threatened our NATO alliances — demonstrating he has no understanding of national security.

A man who was granted five draft deferments, prefers Vladimir Putin to our U.S. leaders and makes disgusting comments about women, immigrants, Muslims, the physically disabled, judges and families whose children died defending Trump’s right to be a jerk should never be president.
