Letters: Vote for Clinton for who she is not
Lord knows Hillary Clinton has her faults, but to steal a phrase from a Donald Trump supporter’s recent letter, I “will run, not walk” to the polls to vote for her, not so much because of who she is but who she is not.
She has never mocked John McCain, a man who refused early repatriation and spent six years of torture in a North Vietnamese prison camp while Trump was getting five student deferments. She has never called Mexicans rapists and murderers or declared an Indiana-born judge unfit to render a fair decision because of his Mexican heritage.
She hasn’t called women “fat pigs,” “dogs” or “disgusting animals” or dropped F-bombs in speeches in front of children.
She hasn’t called for banning an entire class of people from this country because of how they worship. She has never waved her arms around to mock a reporter’s disability. She’s not a deadbeat who has filed six bankruptcies, ripped off vendors or created a fake university to defraud gullible students.
She has never threatened to undermine NATO or praised a KGB thug like Vladimir Putin. She knew what “Brexit” was when asked about it.
In short, unlike her opponent, Hillary is not a crude, unstable, racist and ignorant demagogue unfit to be president.
