Letters: Releasing cougars? Seriously?

I was shocked by the July 21 article, “Too many deer on the road? Let cougars return, study says.” How could anyone even suggest exposing our children and pets to dangerous prey?

The way to eliminate over-populated deer is to expand deer hunting seasons. Let’s remember the coyote deal and how it backfired. If a cougar killed a human, it would be the same as pulling the trigger of a gun. It’s called murder.
