Letters: Why Clinton could carry South Carolina

If Hillary Clinton carries South Carolina it will not mean she won here. It will mean Donald Trump did not. She will get the votes she was always going to get. If she comes out ahead, it will be because of voters such as myself, who will never cast a ballot for her but who also find the Republican nominee abhorrent and dangerous and will not, because of principal, push the button on his behalf.

I do not generally agree with our present president, but he is correct to describe Mr. Trump as unfit to serve in that position.

Unless I feel strongly about a local or state issue, I will not vote in a presidential election for the first time in 36 years.
