Letters: Give Pastides’ raise to employees
Harris Pastides: A $1 million man. Really, there is no college president worth $1 million. It takes a well-trained and dedicated staff to run a college, and the president is just a figurehead.
If USC trustees like throwing money around, why don’t they lower the cost of attending USC? I’m sure the parents would be pleased. How about giving the staff a raise; now that would be a good thing and would raise the morale. How about adding to the benefits for the staff and the real workers in the trenches. There are plenty of places that that money would better benefit the staff instead of giving it to just one man.
