Name change on the way for Columbia Fireflies’ stadium
The Columbia Fireflies’ stadium is getting a name change for the 2019 baseball season.
Spirit Communications Park will now be known as Segra Park. Spirit Communications and Lumos Networks Corp. announced Monday that the two companies have rebranded as Segra.
New signage for the 2016 Ballpark Digest Ballpark of the Year will be going up soon.
“We are excited to play such a big role in the launch of the Segra brand,” Fireflies President John Katz said in a statement. “It is an exciting opportunity to participate in their brand launch just like they helped us do in 2016. We are excited for the new opportunities this brings to both organizations, and will continue to deliver first-class, affordable family entertainment with Fireflies baseball and other events here at Segra Park.”
Columbia opens the season April 4 at home against Charleston. Group and season tickets for the 2019 season of Fireflies baseball are on sale now.
The Fireflies are the Single A affiliate of the New York Mets.
