Former Berkeley safety hoping for Clemson offer
He doesn’t really need one considering all the major offers he has accumulated, but former Berkeley defensive back Israel Mukuamu, now of Bossier City, La., camped at Clemson last week and at the least is in the conversation for an offer from the Tigers. At least, that’s what he’s hoping.
“It was good at Clemson,” Mukuamu said. “Coach (Mike) Reed said he really likes me so we will have to see if they offer or not. I think I did very good. I got better since the last time I camped there which was last summer and that’s what Coach Reed told me. Also, he liked the way I can cover and flip my hips. So hopefully the offer comes. It would mean a lot I been waiting for the offer since last year.”
The Tigers like Mukuamu as a safety. As do a lot of other schools. Florida State just offered a few days ago. He’s also picked up offers from South Florida, Florida, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, Indiana, Ole Miss, Purdue, Louisville and others. South Carolina offered him when he lived in the state but has not followed up with him since he moved.
Mukuamu said his top list right now is Oklahoma State, Indiana, Ole Miss, Purdue, Florida State, Louisville and Florida.
