Clemson football getting plenty of early love in 2018 polls

The 2017 college football season just ended Monday night, but national outlets are already looking ahead to next year.

Several early preseason polls for 2018 were released on Tuesday, and Clemson is expected to once again have a strong season.

The Tigers have been to the College Football Playoff each of the past three years.

USA Today Sports ranks Clemson No. 1 in its way-too-early top 25 for next season, followed by Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia and Wisconsin.

ESPN has Clemson No. 2 in its early top 25, behind only Alabama.

Sporting News and Athlon also have the Tigers No. 2 behind Alabama, while Yahoo has Clemson No. 3 behind Alabama and Georgia.

The college football season is still nearly eight months away, but most national prognosticators expect the Tigers to return to the College Football Playoff for the fourth consecutive season.
