Clemson battling to be final choice of Clark Yarbrough

Offensive lineman Clark Yarbrough of Woodberry Forest, Va., is less than a month from announcing his decision.

On May 21, at around 5:30 p.m. following the conclusion of the final spring practice at his school, Yarbrough plans to tell his teammates and coaches his college decision. He is down to Clemson, Stanford, Virginia, Florida and Duke.

College recruiters are making their way to Woodberry Forest for one of their final chances to meet with Yarbrough before the decision, and Clemson's Brandon Streeter will be in on Tuesday, according to Yarbrough’s coach Clint Alexander. While there, Streeter will also check out sophomore quarterback Lindell Stone.

“He tells me constantly he likes the Clemson staff the best,” Alexander said. “There's a pretty charismatic line coach there, and he likes Coach Streeter, too.”

Yarbrough is coming off a visit to Stanford earlier this month and the Cardinal also are in a strong position.

“I know he was impressed with Stanford,” his coach said. “The issue with them was if he can gain that weight, and he showed them he can.”

Virginia was in to see Yarbrough last week, as was Penn State. Miami also is coming in on Tuesday.
