Clemson’s confirmed football signees for the 2019 class (star rating is per 247Sports Composite ranking that factors in all networks):
Davis Allen, TE
3 stars | 6-5, 220 | Calhoun, Ga.
Allen is a two-way player who will play tight end for the Tigers. The Georgia native was named the Region 6 AAA Defensive Player of the Year and was also named first-team all-region on offense and defense.
Lavonta Bentley, LB
4 stars | 6-0, 220, Birmingham, Ala.
The Alabama native was named the Defensive Player of the Year in Birmingham after recording 118 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks as a senior.
Kaleb Boateng, OL
3 stars | 6-4, 293 | Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
A Signing Day surprise, Boateng committed and signed with the Tigers on Wednesday. He led Fort Lauderdale High with 49 knockdown blocks as a senior in 2018.
Andrew Booth Jr., DB
5 stars | 6-1, 188 | Dacula, Ga.
The Under Armour All-American is regarded nationally as Clemson’s top signee of the class. Booth was a three-year starter who finished with 162 career tackles, 13 interceptions, 44 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and a blocked field goal. He also had three punt return touchdowns during his career.
Logan Cash, DL
3 stars | 6-4, 252 | Winder, Ga.
Cash is the career leader at Winder-Barrow High in sacks with 42.5, and he led the state of Georgia in sacks in 2017 with 23.5. The three-year starter played in just seven games in 2018 and recorded 40 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and five sacks.
Joseph Charleston, DB
4 stars | 6-2, 190 | Milton, Ga.
The Georgia native led Milton High in tackles with 83, while adding nine tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two interceptions. Charleston helped Milton to the 7A state title.
Bryton Constantin, DB
4 stars | 6-3, 207 | Baton Rouge, La.
The Louisiana native helped University Lab School to a 13-0 record and a state title in 2018. His stats from this past season were not available but in 2017 Constantin had 104 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and six sacks.
Tyler Davis, DL
4 stars | 6-1, 293 | Apopka, Fla.
The Florida native committed and signed to Clemson on Signing Day after recording 34 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and six sacks in 2018.
Tayquon Johnson, DL
3 stars | 6-2, 295 | Williamsport, Md.
The Maryland native was named the Herald-Mail Defensive Player of the Year in 2017 and 2018. Johnson produced 184 tackles, 44 tackles for loss and 12 sacks during the course of his junior and senior seasons.
Sheridan Jones, DB
4 stars | 6-1, 175 | Norfolk, Va.
Jones is an Under Armour All-American and two-way player who will play defensive back for the Tigers. He had 45 tackles and two interceptions defensively in 2018, while finishing with 17 receptions for 347 yards and two scores as a receiver.
Frank Ladson, WR
5 stars | 6-4, 186 | Miami
Clemson continued its trend of bringing in top receivers from Florida with the signing of Ladson. The five-star prospect had 50 catches for 1,133 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior, setting a school record for receiving yards.
Jaelyn Lay, TE
4 stars | 6-6, 220 | Atlanta
The Atlanta native helped his team to an 8-4 record in 2018. Lay had 29 receptions for 240 yards and four touchdowns in 2017.
Keith Maguire, LB
3 stars | 6-2, 210 | Media, Penn.
Maguire recorded 106 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, five sacks and four interceptions as a senior. He also had 313 yards rushing, 314 receiving and scored 14 total touchdowns while being named conference MVP for the second time.
Chez Mellusi, RB
4 stars | 6-1, 205 | Naples, Fla.
The Florida native had a strong senior season with 1,819 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns while averaging 9.9 yards per carry. Mellusi finished his high school career with 3,905 yards and 50 touchdowns.
Joseph Ngata, WR
4 stars | 6-3, 210 | Folsom, Calif.
The California native led his team to a state title each of his final two years. Ngata had 66 catches for 1,272 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2018.
Ruke Orhorhoro, DL
3 stars | 6-4, 271 | Lagos, Nigeria
The first Clemson signee who played high school football in Michigan since 1975, Orhorhoro had 60 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and 13 sacks in 2018. Originally from Nigeria, Orhorhoro did not play his first football game until the fall of 2017.
Etinosa Reuben, DL
3 stars | 6-3, 275 | Kansas City, Mo.
Reuben became the second signee from Missouri to come to Clemson, joining Mario Goodrich from a season ago. The Kansas City native recorded 62 tackles, 16 tackles for loss and three sacks in 2018. He has only played three years of football.
Brannon Spector, WR
3 stars | 6-1, 185 | Calhoun, Ga.
Spector’s father, Robbie Spector, was a receiver at Clemson from 1988-90. Brannon had 49 receptions for 719 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior and also intercepted five passes.
Kane Patterson, LB
4 stars | 6-1, 225 | Brentwood, Tenn.
The two-way standout had 59 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and four sacks, while rushing for 647 yards and 16 touchdowns. Patterson led Christ Presbyterian Academy to a state title as a senior.
Hunter Rayburn, OL
3 stars | 6-4, 320 | Pensacola, Fla.
The Florida native is a two-sport athlete who was also a pitcher and first baseman at West Florida Tech. Rayburn was a three-year starter.
Taisun Phommachanh, QB
4 stars | 6-3, 194 | Bridgeport, Conn.
One of the top quarterbacks in the nation, Phommachanh finished his career with 5,224 passing yards and 46 touchdowns, with 12 interceptions. He also rushed for 1,264 yards and 25 touchdowns. The Connecticut native played in only six games as a senior while dealing with injuries, finishing with 1,066 passing yards and nine touchdowns.
Jalyn Phillips, DB
3 stars | 6-0, 198 | Lawrenceville, Ga.
An all-region and all-county defender, Phillips was a three-year starter who finished his career with 198 tackles, six tackles for loss and two interceptions.
Lannden Zanders, DB
3 stars | 6-1, 189 | Shelby, NC
The all-conference selection had 51 tackles and five interceptions as a senior in 2018. He returned two of the interceptions for touchdowns while helping Crest to a 9-4 record.
Greg Williams, LB
3 stars | 6-3, 235 | Swansea, SC
Clemson’s only signee from South Carolina, Williams was a four-year starter at Swansea High who finished with 78 tackles, a sack, two forced fumbles and three interceptions as a senior in 2018.
Aidan Swanson, P
3 stars | 6-3, 165 | Tampa
Swanson is a left-footed punter who is ranked as a top five punter in the country by most recruiting services. The Florida native handled kickoffs for IMG Academy in 2018 and had 29 touchbacks on 46 kickoffs (63 percent). He also averaged 42.3 yards per punt in 2018 after averaging 46.0 in 2017.
Ray Thornton, DB
3 stars | 6-2, 198 | Columbus, Ga.
Thornton was a high school teammate of current Tigers receiver Justyn Ross as the two played at Central High in Phenix City, Ala. The safety helped lead Central to its first undefeated season since 1944 and intercepted a pass and returned it 68 yards in the state title game.
