Clemson basketball forward to transfer

Clemson basketball was already set to lose four starters off of this year’s team. Now the Tigers are also losing an important backup.

Forward Javan White is transferring from Clemson after playing one season for the Tigers, a source confirmed to The State on Thursday.

White played in 32 games, with two starts for Clemson in 2018-19. He averaged two points and two rebounds per game.

White was Clemson’s best big man off the bench as he backed up starting forward Elijah Thomas. He was expected to have an increased role next season with starters Thomas, David Skara, Shelton Mitchell and Marcquise Reed graduating.

White came to Clemson after starting his career at Oral Roberts. The Ames, Iowa native has one season of eligibility remaining.
