With Jeff Scott moving on, Clemson has its replacement for a receivers coach

Clemson has its replacement for receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott.

Former Tigers receiver Tyler Grisham will fill the void on Clemson’s staff with Scott leaving to become the head coach at South Florida.

Scott was introduced as USF’s new head coach Wednesday morning and Grisham and Clemson co-offensive coordinator Tony Elliott were on hand in Tampa, Florida to show support.

Scott mentioned during his press conference that Grisham will be his replacement, and a source confirmed Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is promoting Grisham to be a full-time assistant. Grisham, who played at Clemson from 2005-08, was serving as an offensive analyst for the Tigers.

Grisham is in his sixth season on Clemson’s staff and his third as an offensive analyst.

He recorded 132 catches for 1,390 yards and eight touchdowns in his college career before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent in 2009. Grisham was either on the Steelers roster or practice squad from 2009-11 before joining the Broncos practice squad in 2012.

Clemson also had another staff change Wednesday as Director of Player Development and Recruiting Transition Brad Scott confirmed to Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times that he will leave Clemson to join his son Jeff Scott’s staff at USF. Brad Scott will have an off-field support role at South Florida.

Brad Scott spent 21 seasons at Clemson, including 12 years as an assistant coach from 1999-2010. Brad Scott was an assistant coach at Florida State under Bobby Bowden from 1983-93 before taking over as the head coach at South Carolina in 1994. He led the Gamecocks from 1994-98, then was hired as an assistant coach at Clemson in 1999. He graduated from South Florida in 1979.
