No. 1 recruit in the country for 2021 commits to Clemson football

Clemson football capped a strong recruiting weekend with the player ranked No. 1 in the land.

Corona (Calif.) Centennial five-star defensive end Korey Foreman announced his commitment to the Tigers following a trip to the team’s junior day this weekend. It’s the third time in four years Clemson got the top player in the country along with Trevor Lawrence and Bryan Bresee.

Some of his other offers were LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, Washington and Southern Cal.

He is Clemson’s fourth commit in the past two days. The class has nine commitments overall and is ranked No. 1 in the country by 247.

His high school’s MaxPreps lists him with 32 tackles, five sacks, seven QB hurries and one forced fumble in eight games.

Foreman visited Clemson for the first time last July and said at that time the defense, which he saw as a four-man front, would be a good fit for him since that’s what they run at his high school.

Over the summer he also visited UCLA, Southern Cal, Alabama and Oregon. But his visit to Clemson in July seemed to swing the momentum in the Tigers’ favor. Clemson coaches were by his school last week to check in on him and set the stage for his commitment this weekend.
