Clemson’s offense was dealt another blow ahead of Saturday’s Florida State game: Running back Kobe Pace is in COVID-19 protocol and will not be available.

That leaves Clemson with three available scholarship running backs against Florida State: Will Shipley, Phil Mafah and Darien Rencher. The Tigers lost tailbacks Lyn-J Dixon and Michel Dukes to the transfer portal during the season.

Pace leads the team with 59 carries for 327 yards to go with three touchdowns and a team-high 5.5 yards per carry. It’s expected that Shipley will be Clemson’s starter for the game.

Swinney is hoping to have EJ Williams, Joseph Ngata and Hunter Rayburn available this week. Jake Venables will be a gametime decision.

Clemson (4-3, 3-2 ACC) hosts Florida State (3-4, 2-3) at 3:30 p.m. Saturday on ESPN. The Tigers are a 10-point favorite in the game.
