Clemson QB signee Cade Klubnik named All-American Bowl player of the year
Clemson quarterback signee Cade Klubnik was named the All-Americal Bowl player of the year after a dazzling performance at the game on Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
Klubnik threw three touchdowns as the West team beat the East team, 34-14. The feat comes after he was named the Maxpreps National Football Player of the Year on Tuesday, joining Tigers sophomore quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei, who also played in the All-American Bowl in 2020, as the only Clemson commits to win the honor. Former Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the 2021 NFL Draft No. 1 pick, also competed in the All-American Bowl.
Klubnik is the only commit to win the Elite 11 MVP, accomplished over the summer.
The Austin Westlake (Texas) signal caller left the the program as all-time leading passer (7,561 yards) and three-time state championship winner. He is set to report to Clemson on Sunday as a mid-year enrollee.
