Clemson on shortened list for Georgia O-lineman
Offensive lineman Tremayne Anchrum Jr. (6-3 270) of Powder Springs, Ga., is down to eight schools, with Clemson in that group.
The seven other schools on his shortened list are Georgia, Nebraska, Wake Forest, Missouri, Colorado, Virginia Tech and Boston College.
Anchrum said he hasn’t been to any camps and doesn’t have any plans to attend camps. He did visit Nebraska, Missouri and Colorado in June. Later this month he is considering attending either the Clemson or Georgia cookouts, which are the same weekend.
Anchrum has never visited Clemson but he’s having regular contact with recruiters Tony Elliott and Robbie Caldwell.
“They really want me to come to that barbecue thing,” Anchrum said. “They are trying to get me out there to meet the people right now. They hit me up about every week.”
As for what’s caught his attention about the Tigers, Anchrum said, “The intensity in which they play, their consistency in the power rankings and just the tradition.”
Georgia, however, is recruiting Anchrum the hardest at this point. He doesn’t claim to be a Bulldog fan but said he’s watched them a good bit over the years.
Anchrum said he he will further reduce his list by the start of the season and he wants to make his decision around the first of November. There is no favorite at this point.
