One of the top uncommitted prospects at Clemson's All-In Cookout Friday was offensive lineman Bryce Mathews of Brentwood, TN.

It was Mathews' second visit to Clemson following his stop in late April Mathews is eyeing a decision possibly as early as this week with Clemson, Ole Miss and Tennessee as the contenders. And the Tigers certainly helped their positioning with what they showed Mathews and his family on Friday and Saturday.

“It was a great trip and a great experience," Mathews said. "We got to spend a lot of time with the coaches and the players and meet a lot of people. I think we all had a really good time. I wanted to take a second trip to see how it followed up and I left with the same impression as I did the first time. I would definitely say that Clemson is one of my top two or three schools right now and someone that I'm really giving a hard look to.”

Mathews spent a lot of time with Dabo Swinney and with offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell. He said he loved the Christian, family atmosphere Swinney has developed with the football program, and he likes Caldwell's down home, folksy approach to things. And he knows he's facing a tough decision.

“I could end up making a decision as soon as next (this) week," he said. "I just have to make sure that it's 100-percent what I want to do and don't have any doubts going into that decision. If it all lines up right after lots of prayer and talking to other people, it could be next (this) weekend. The visit to Clemson was the last one I had planned.”

Mathews' father is Jason Mathews who was an offensive lineman at Texas A&M and with the Colts and Titans.
