A former Clemson football wide receiver has a new home.

Former Tigers wide receiver Brannon Spector has committed to Jacksonville State, he announced Wednesday via X (formerly Twitter). It’ll be Spector’s final year of eligibility after five seasons at Clemson from 2019-23.

With Spector’s commitment to JSU, all 10 Clemson scholarship players who entered the transfer portal this offseason have found a new school.

Jacksonville State, located in Alabama, competes at the FBS Group of Five level and was 9-3 and 6-2 in Conference USA this season. They gave South Carolina a competitive game late in the season and finishing things off with an overtime win over Louisiana in the New Orleans Bowl. It was the Gamecocks’ first season at the FBS level.

Spector entered the transfer portal earlier this month after saying after the Gator Bowl his chances of returning to the Tigers for a sixth season in 2024 were “slim.”

In his Clemson career, Spector caught 38 passes for 372 yards and two touchdowns. He played 608 snaps across 38 games and logged six starts. His productive season came in 2022, when he started five games and had 15 catches for 195 yards and two touchdowns. He missed the entire 2021 season battling respiratory issues.

But the veteran fell out of the rotation in 2023, catching only four passes for 25 yards the entire season as other receivers including Troy Stellato and Tyler Brown emerged for Clemson. The Tigers also have two highly touted incoming 2024 receiver recruits, Bryant Wesco and TJ Moore.

Spector will be seeking more playing time at Jacksonville State, which had competed at the FCS level since 1995 before making the jump to C-USA.

The Gamecocks are led by longtime college football coach Rich Rodriguez, who has a Tigers connection. He was Clemson’s offensive coordinator and associate head coach under Tommy Bowden from 1999-2000.
