Kickoff time, TV channel set for Clemson vs. Wake Forest football game
The ACC has announced a kickoff time and TV channel for Clemson football’s second conference road game of the season at Wake Forest.
The Tigers and the Demon Deacons will kick off at noon from Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for their game on Saturday Oct. 12, the ACC announced Monday. ESPN will broadcast the game.
This will be Clemson’s second ACC road game in a row. The No. 15 Tigers (3-1, 2-0 ACC) travel to Tallahassee this weekend to play Florida State (1-4, 1-3 ACC).
Clemson is coming off a 40-14 home win over Stanford.
Wake Forest is 1-3 and 0-1 in the ACC so far this season. Coach Dave Clawson’s squad most recently lost at home, 41-38, to Louisiana (a Group of Five team competing in the Sun Belt Conference). Wake Forest plays at NC State in Raleigh this weekend.
This will be Clemson’s third time playing at noon in six games this season. The Tigers previously kicked off at noon for their season opener against Georgia in Atlanta and their Sept. 21 home game against NC State.
Although the last two games have been close, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney has been historically dominant against Wake Forest.
He is a perfect 15-0 as a head coach against Wake Forest and 10-0 in head-to-head matchups with Clawson, who’s coached at Wake (which used to play Clemson annually in the ACC Atlantic Division) since 2014.
Clawson is the only coach to be defeated by Swinney 10 separate times.
The last two Clemson-Wake Forest games have been decided by one score: a 51-45 double overtime win by Clemson in Winston-Salem in 2022 (in an AP ranked matchup), and a 17-12 Clemson win in Memorial Stadium in 2023.
