Clemson announced several facilities updates on Friday morning including some concerning Death Valley ahead of the Tigers’ season opener on Sept. 5 against Wofford College.

The biggest and most notable addition to the stadium is the “oculus” and pedestrian bridge project on the West End Zone, which will connect the north and south decks. The report says that while some parts of the paving and brick work may not be completed until after the first two home games, the bridge connected the north and south lower decks will be open and functional for the season opener.

Other updates on Death Valley include a south stands renovation that upgrades the suites and pressbox on the home side of the stadium. Furniture is scheduled to arrive the week of Aug. 10 and the press areas (scoreboard, radios, press box) of the renovation should be near finished before Aug. 31. The project should be completed and fully functional by the season opener.

Updates on Doug Kingsmore Stadium include a new 20,000 square-foot complex along the first base line. The facility, which includes locker rooms, coaches offices, a dining area and more will be completely finished and ready to move in as school starts at Aug. 19.

The basketball arena, LittleJohn Coliseum, is also in the early stage of a renovation and the report says the lower seating bowl has been excavated and reconstruction will begin in September.

The ongoing projects total $106 million and up-to-date photos and renderings of each project can be found at ClemsonTigers.com
