Clemson’s Watson lands on Heisman watch list

Though the question still remains on whether or not Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson will stay healthy this year, he is earning a lot of attention going into this season.

On Thursday, he came in ranked No. 6 on ESPN Experts’ Heisman Watch Poll, the highest ranked Atlantic Coast Player. Watson received one third place, fourth place and fifth place vote from the panel of voters, giving him six points overall.

The top five consisted of Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliot, TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin, Southern Cal quarterback Cody Kessler, Georgia running back Nick Chubb and Ohio State quarterback J. T. Barrett, in order.

Watson only has six career starts, but has been named to many national watch lists including the Manning and Walter Camp Awards.

The Heisman Trophy will be awarded on Dec. 12 in New York City.
