Kickoff time, TV channel announced for Clemson vs. UNC ACC football game
Clemson football has a kickoff time for its road game at UNC.
The Tigers’ game against Bill Belichick and the Tar Heels will kick off at noon on Saturday, Oct. 4, the ACC announced Monday. ESPN will broadcast the game from Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
It’s Clemson’s third-straight game in the noon ESPN timeslot.
This is Clemson’s first time playing at UNC since 2019. The game will also mark only the second all-time matchup of a multi-time college national champion (Clemson’s Dabo Swinney) and a multi-time NFL Super Bowl champion (UNC’s Belichick).
The only other instance of that in a college football setting came in 1993 when Bill Walsh and Stanford beat Joe Paterno and Penn State in the 1993 Blockbuster Bowl.
The Swinney-Belichick matchup has lost a little luster, though. It was considered a sneaky pick to land ESPN’s “College GameDay” program in the offseason but is instead a matchup of teams performing below expectations.
Clemson, the preseason No. 4 team, is off to a 1-3 and 0-2 ACC start after losing at home to Syracuse. The Tigers have their first of two scheduled off weeks this Saturday. UNC is 2-2 after losing on the road at UCF and is also idle this week.
The programs are a combined 0-5 against power conference teams in 2025.
