Clemson basketball has landed its fourth and final transfer commit.

Former San Francisco forward David Fuchs announced a commitment to the Tigers and coach Brad Brownell on Monday.

Fuchs (6-9, 245) averaged 12.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game at USF last year and was the West Coast Conference’s newcomer of the year.

He previously played two seasons at Rhode Island and will have one year of eligibility remaining at Clemson. Fuchs joins transfer signees Cole Certa (Notre Dame), Dylan Faulkner (Samford) and Liutauras Lelevičius (TCU).

With Fuchs’ commitment, Clemson is up to 14 players on its 2026-27 roster. The NCAA roster limit for men’s basketball under the House settlement is 15 players.

“Orange always looked good on me,” Fuchs wrote in an Instagram post.

Fuchs is a native of Vienna, Austria and played professionally in two different German basketball leagues before moving to NCAA basketball in 2023.

After averaging 7.6 points and 7.0 rebounds across 56 career games for URI in the Atlantic 10, Fuchs took a notable step forward at San Francisco last season.

He set career highs in most categories and led the Dons in total rebounds, offensive rebounds, field goal percentage and free throws made/attempted.

Fuchs scored in double figures 19 times and scored 20-plus points six times while shooting 51.7% from the field and 64.5% on free throws. The All WCC second-teamer also shot 30.3% on 3-pointers (albeit on 1.1 attemps per game).

Clemson finished 24-11 and 12-6 in the ACC last year. The Tigers won 20-plus games for the fourth season in a row and made a third straight NCAA Tournament for the first time ever under Brownell. Clemson lost to Iowa in the first round.

Adding frontcourt portal depth was a top priority for Clemson in the portal. The Tigers are losing senior bigs RJ Godfrey and Nick Davidson, and Carter Welling’s status for the season is unclear after a torn ACL injury in March.

Faulkner and Fuchs give Clemson two feasible starting options in the post.
